KiwiSaver contributions 2026–27
What each KiwiSaver rate takes from your pay. This page shows contributions only; it doesn't compare funds or give advice.
Rates from 1 April 2026
- Employee rates: 3.5%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%. The default is 3.5000000000000004%.
- Employers pay at least 3.5000000000000004% of your gross pay on top. Employer superannuation contribution tax (ESCT) is taken from that, not from your pay.
- Both minimums rise to 4% from 1 April 2028.
- Your contribution is worked out on gross pay each payday and comes out after PAYE.
