Pay rise calculator (UK, 2026/27)
A rise is taxed at your marginal rate, so you keep less than the headline amount. This shows exactly how much more lands in your pay, using 2026/27 rates.
You keep of the rise
£1,440 a year
£120.00 more a month · 72% of a £2,000 rise
Take-home: £32,322 → £33,762 a year
Why you keep less than the rise
The extra pay is taxed at your top rate of income tax plus National Insurance (8% up to £50,270, 2% above), and student loan repayments rise by 9% of the increase if you are over the threshold. Between £100,000 and £125,140 the personal allowance taper means you keep only about 38p of each extra pound.
