Pay rise calculator (NZ, 2026–27)

A rise is taxed at your marginal rate, so you keep less than the headline amount. This shows exactly how much more lands in your pay, using 2026–27 rates.

You keep of the rise

$2,389 a year

$91.87 more a fortnight · 68.2% of a $3,500 rise

Take-home: $55,555 → $57,944 a year

Why you keep less than the rise

The extra pay is taxed at your top tax rate plus the 1.7500000000000002% ACC levy (up to $156,641), and student loan repayments take 12% of it. KiwiSaver takes your chosen rate too, though that money is still yours.
